I’m A Celebrity’s Vernon Kay and Ruthie Henshall ‘clashed during a task… but tense moment was CUT’

Ruthie Henshall and Vernon Kay reportedly clashed during their attempt to win the camp gifts from home, but the tense moment was cut from the show.

The West End star, 53, allegedly ‘snapped’ at the TV presenter, 46, while they were doing The Serpent challenge which was shown on Saturday’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! show, reports The Sun.

Determined to complete the task and frustrated at her results, Ruthie is thought to have ‘barked’ at Vernon and said: ‘Use your c**k to knock the ball down the hole!’

Bust-up: I’m A Celebrity’s Ruthie Henshall and Vernon Kay reportedly clashed during their attempt to win the camp gifts from home, but the tense scene was cut from Saturday’s show

In the challenge Vernon was partnered with Victoria while Ruthie was paired with Mo Farah to earn keys which would unlock boxes with either stars for dinner or gifts.

To be in with the chance of a treat, the foursome had to face a raised wobble board and work in pairs to carefully manoeuvre keys safely down the board.

Mo and Ruthie only managed to get two keys, but Victoria and Vernon had a little more luck and got all five of their keys meaning the team scored 7 out of 10.

A source has now told The Sun that: ‘Ruthie was just so desperate to get everyone their treat from home that in the heat of the moment she snapped at Vernon.

‘He was trying to be supportive but Ruthie clearly took it the wrong way and briefly barked back at him… It was a fleeting clash, and everyone was friends again afterwards.’

They added that Ruthie felt her concentration was being affected by Vernon during the trial, claiming she thought he had ‘gone into host mode’.

After the challenge, journalist Victoria said: ‘Vernon was an absolute legend. He was so patient.’

While Vernon added: ‘That’s probably the most difficult fairground game I’ve ever played.’

Although all the campmates had to complete tasks, not all of them got to enjoy a gift from home during the evening.

Giovanna Fletcher got emotional during the challenge, with the mother-of-two not ending up receiving a treat from her family alongside AJ and Jordan North.

Ruthie became the second campmate to be eliminated from this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! during Sunday’s episode.

On her departure, the stage actress, 53, held back tears as she anticipated reuniting with her daughters Lily, 17, and Dolly, 15, stating: ‘I get to see my girls! As a mother you just think about the things you do wrong, not the things you do right.’

The remaining ten celebrities will continue to be evicted from the programme’s new location of Gwrych Castle in North Wales each night until the series finale on Friday, after parasport athlete Hollie Arnold was booted from the series earlier this week.

The Cats star – who shares her children with her ex-husband, musician Tim Howar, 51 – detailed her short stint during an exit interview with hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, declaring: ‘That was brutal. I can already taste my burger.

‘You have absolutely no control in there, the rollercoaster of emotions is ridiculous. You start thinking about things that you haven’t thought about in years, but everyone is there is so delightful and there was a real camaraderie in there.’

The artist didn’t hold back by sharing revelations in the camp as she confessed to sleeping with ‘lovely bloke’ Prince Edward inside Buckingham Palace.

Admitting she didn’t believe she’d be candid on the series, the West End star said: ‘It was Shane [Richie]! He asked me all the questions. I thought I wouldn’t spill the beans. I felt like I was having a chat with a mate, but only afterwards you think of the ramifications.

‘I felt that I go into the outside world and I’m Ruthie, and that’s not really totally who I am. I felt today the most myself than I have this whole time.’
