Catherine O’Hara recreates hilarious scene from Home Alone 2 as fans are shocked to discover the Schitt’s Creek star is the same actress from the film
Catherine O’Hara has recreated one of her most memorable scenes from Home Alone when her character realised she forgot her son on a family trip.
The actress, 66, played Kevin McCallister’s mother Kate in the first two Home Alone films alongside Macaulay Culkin in 1990 and 1992.
Catherine’s video surprised many social media users who did not realise the Schitt’s Creek star was the same actress from the beloved family films.

In a hilarious TikTok video, Catherine recreated the moment in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York when Kate looks directly into the camera and screams ‘Kevin!’ before she faints after realising she has left her son by himself again.
The first film followed Kevin (Culkin) as he was left home alone by his family who forgot him during a Christmas trip to Paris and has to fend off two burglars who break into his house.
In the sequel, Kevin is accidentally separated from his family after he gets on the wrong plane flight and most battle the same criminals once again.
Catherine’s hilarious clip, which has been viewed millions of times, prompted a strong reaction from fans who didn’t realise she had starred in Home Alone.

One Twitter user wrote: ‘Just realised that the mother in Schitt’s Creek is the same person that plays Kevin’s mother in Home Alone’.

Another added: ‘Omg I kept saying the mom from Schitt’s Creek looks like the mom from Home Alone I didn’t peep it was her’.
Home Alone was followed by a third and fourth sequel which featured new storylines without any of the original cast.

The TV star’s victory was part of an unprecedented sweep that saw Schitt’s Creek take home nine wins in September.
The show, which also starred Euguene Levy, Dan Levy and Annie Murphy, followed a wealthy family who lose their fortune and are forced to move to a remote town they had purchased for their son as a joke on his birthday.
Catherine is also known for her roles in films including Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Best in Show and A Mighty Wind.
