Today: Karl Stefanovic winces at his co-host Allison Langdon’s singing

Today show host Karl Stefanovic winced as his co-anchor Allison Langdon butchered a Christmas classic on Tuesday.

After returning from a commercial break, Allison, 41, began singing Mariah Carey’s hit song All I Want for Christmas Is You.

‘It’s feeling very festive in here today,’ she laughed as she turned to Karl, 46, who looked unimpressed and cringed at her performance.

‘I mean, that’s not necessary,’ she said of her colleague’s reaction. ‘Or maybe it is?’

‘There is only one voice in this world that could ever block out Mariah’s,’ Karl said, referring to Allison’s pitchy performance.

‘I will take that as a compliment!’ Allison quipped.

Karl’s hilarious reaction comes after he was left speechless when an elderly guest asked if he’d had a facelift on Monday.

He was put on the spot by Noela MacLeod, who was promoting the Country Women’s Association’s new book, Thrifty Household.

Allison asked her if she had any personal questions for Karl. Noela said cheerfully: ‘I wanted to know, has he had a facelift?’ 

The rather personal question prompted an eruption of laughter in the studio as Karl sarcastically responded: ‘That’s a bit rude… of course I have!’

Allison then pushed Noela a little further, asking whether she thought the father of four was ‘handsome’ or not.

‘Well, I don’t know… handsome is in the eye of the beholder,’ she said, which prompted Allison to say she’d done a good job of ‘dodging’ the question.
