My Kitchen Rules star set to replace Pete Evans on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! after Ten axed controversial chef from reality show over his neo-Nazi meme scandal

Channel Ten is tipped to replace Pete Evans with his My Kitchen Rules co-star Colin Fassnidge on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

According to a report in The Australian, ‘impeccable sources’ swear that the Irish-born chef will be Pete’s replacement.

Colin is known for his ‘take no prisoners’ temperament and the new role would be a lucrative career move for the father-of-two.

Colin recently discussed his own dire predictions for the future of the only TV show he stars on, My Kitchen Rules.

In August, the 47-year-old explained to the Herald Sun that the future of the series is uncertain, especially in the wake of the pandemic.

‘I think it is all up in the air no one knows what is happening. TV is a little bit like Melbourne at the moment, they are in a world of pain,’ he said.

But he also explained: ‘I never banked on TV. That is why we always had our restaurants going and other stuff like catering.

‘I am 47, I know exactly what TV is. I don’t trust anyone in TV. If I was 27 I would have believed everything they say.’

He was cut from the show after he’d already commenced his mandatory pre-show quarantine in northern NSW.

Once he got the call he’d been axed at 6:30am, the celebrity chef packed his bags and returned to his own farm, which is just a short drive from the set.

Following the debacle, Pete told Daily Mail Australia: ‘I apologise to anyone who might have taken it out of context.’

‘I promise you, whatever anybody is saying, that is not who I am,’ he insisted.

‘And once again, deepest apologies to anyone who might have taken offence to that comment, or the image that I shared, because it was never meant to be taken in that way,’ he added.

Channel Ten confirmed they had dropped Pete following the scandal. ‘Network 10 can confirm that Pete Evans will not be appearing on this season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ a spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia this month.
