What has happened to Sam Ball? MAFS bad boy is totally unrecognisable

What has happened to Sam Ball? Married At First Sight bad boy is totally unrecognisable as he loses weight and flaunts his dramatic new look

Sam Ball returned to social media with a bold new look a few weeks ago, after a six-month digital detox during which he completed an Army selection course.

And the former Married At First Sight star, 27, continued to flaunt his physical transformation on Monday by sharing a frankly bizarre Instagram selfie.

Not only has he seemingly lost a lot of weight, but Sam now sports a very dark tan and impossibly white teeth.

‘Today is going to be a great day,’ the reality TV bad boy captioned his post, which showed him posing in front of a mirror wearing nothing but a towel.

His chest and arm tattoos were on full display, and his defined eyebrows seemed to be the only hair left on his body.

Sam couldn’t look more different these days compared to when he was an unlucky-in-love groom on the 2019 season of Married At First Sight.

He was partnered with quirky bride Elizabeth Sobinoff, with whom he shared zero chemistry, and ended up cheating on her with Ines Basic.

But his affair with Ines ended in heartbreak after he dumped her and then skipped the cast reunion – making him the only participant to do so.

Sam retreated from the public eye in May, when he abruptly deleted his Instagram so he could ‘put 110 per cent’ of himself into ‘new opportunities’.

He flew under the radar in the months that followed, before eventually returning to Instagram November 8 with a photo of himself looking very different.

Sam, who previously had designer stubble and well-styled hair, looked remarkably different with a bald head and no facial hair whatsoever.

Daily Mail Australia later revealed that Sam had joined the Army, and had graduated from the Kapooka Army Recruit Training program and was living in Canberra.

Sam had hinted at his plans to join the military back in May, when he penned an essay on Instagram about his decision to quit the social media platform.

‘I’ve had some amazing life opportunities fall into the palms of my hands, literally, so I’m going to put 110 per cent of my efforts into these opportunities and delete or deactivate Instagram,’ Sam said in a video uploaded on May 13.

‘I don’t need or want Instagram. I don’t make money from it and I certainly at the moment I do not have a business using Instagram for so there’s no need for it currently.

‘I’ve got some beautiful relationships at hand and want to put all of my energy into these relationships – I don’t want any distractions so I wish you guys all the best.’
