Gordon Ramsay announces the first UK branch of his burger restaurant is opening in Harrods right after lockdown – but one patty will cost £80 (and it doesn’t come with chips)

Gordon Ramsay has left fans divided after launching a brand new restaurant in Knightsbridge which features a burger costing £80.
The celebrity chef is bringing his Gordon Ramsay Burger restaurant from America and opening one in the Harrods department store on December 4.
Gordon took to Instagram on Monday to announce the arrival of his latest restaurant, with the video having since been viewed more than 800,000 times.
In the clip he says: ‘I’m really excited to announce I’m bringing the Gordon Ramsay Burger to Harrods in Knightsbridge for the first time ever.

‘Now, the good news is you’ll be able to taste my delicious Somerset-brushed burgers in London, and trust me, this is going to be a burger experience like no other.
‘We’ve really elevated our patties using the most incredible mix of the UK’s best cuts of meat.’
The menu itself will include items such as the £80 wagyu burger which uses a prime beef patty, seared wagyu sirloin, Pecorino cheese, cep mayonnaise, and black truffle.
A lobster and shrimp option, which comes with pickled vegetables and herb aioli, is also available on the menu and costs £42.

Additional items on the menu are the Hell’s Kitchen Burger which has mozzarella cheese, roasted jalapeños, avocado, roasted tomatoes, jalapeño aïoli, costing £25.
A Forest Burger consisting of a beef patty, gruyere cheese, sauté mushrooms, fried Arlington white egg, rocket, cep mayonnaise, also costing £25.
While the Blue Cheeseburger made up of a beef patty, Cashel blue cheese, balsamic glazed onions, rocket, blue cheese dressing, crispy onion ring costs £24.
Reacting to the announcement on Instagram, some people were excited by the new restaurant.

One person said: ‘Yessssss!!! That’s a bit of me.’
While another commented that it was their dream to visit one of Gordon’s restaurants.
They said: ‘Can’t wait to officially visit your restaurant after this COVID mess is over with and feature your dishes on my page. That is one of my biggest bucket list of things to do.’
However, not everyone was as excited by the news, with some people questioning the price of some of the dishes.
The reaction to Gordon’s announcement on social media was mixed, with some fans excited by the prospect of trying Gordon’s burgers, while others complained that they would not be able to afford to eat there
One person said: ‘Would be nice if all these millionaire celebrity chefs could cater to the budgets of normal people and not fellow millionaires.’
While another person, who although was excited by the new restaurant, said: ‘My heart is melted, if my net worth was as same as your weekly salary, I would definitely come to London tomorrow to taste that piece of heaven.’
