The tiny fox was spotted dashing about in Yellowstone National Park with the two animals thundering behind it.
The trio appeared to be playing a game of chase, as they ran back and forth for a good ten minutes before the exhausted bison wandered off for a rest.

The rare interaction was spotted by novelist, Jon Albert, who lives nearby.
The 44-year-old said: ‘The bison was in a playful mood and when the fox showed up, he decided he was going to chase him just for fun.
‘The fox knew it was some sort of a game and he never left the area.
‘The bison would see him again and run towards him. It went on like this for a good 10 minutes.

The game of cat and mouse went on for more than 10 minutes before the bison eventually tired
‘The bison never really had any intention to hurt the fox and the fox knew it.
‘I was laughing throughout the chase because I knew it was mostly mischief and play.
‘It’s rare to catch interspecies play on film.
‘These two species do not compete and are not a threat to each other or to each other’s young, I have not witnessed them engage in interspecies play before though.’
