Ant McPartlin grabs a drink from his driver as he leaves his £1k-per-week cottage

Ant McPartlin emerged from his lockdown on Wednesday to collect cans of fizzy drink from his driver.

The I’m a Celebrity presenter and his co-host Declan Donnelly, both 45, have been forced to isolate and only venture out of their temporary home to front the latest installment of the ITV reality show.

Ant and Dec have chosen two large cottages tucked away beneath a mountain close to the Welsh coast.

Time for a drink: Ant McPartlin, 45, emerged from his cottage on Wednesday to collect cans of fizzy drink from his driver before heading to I’m A Celebrity filming

Ant was seen greeting his driver who offered him two cans of coke over the garden wall, maintaining social distancing by allowing the driver to put them on the wall before stepping forward to pick them.

An observer said: ‘The driver pulled up and left the cans for him outside so that he can socially distance from him and Ant came out and picked them up.

‘It’s been really sunny here today and he was out in his shorts before , but he changed for tonight’s show.’

Ant and Dec have set up their own Welsh camp off a secluded path in £1,000-a-week adjoining cottages and had to relocate Australia for this year’s I’m a celebrity due to the pandemic.

The pair have been forced to swap their normal luxury Palazzo Versace hotel in Australia for the cottages surrounded by muddy paths and nearby mountains in North Wales, which was lashed by storms last week.

Ant and his girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett, 43, are staying in one cottage with their dog, while Dec, his wife Ali, 41, and their daughter Isla, two, are living in another.

Security guards have been seen patrolling outside the secluded cottages near Snowdonia. One in a black beanie hat was seen standing guard by a black Range Rover.

A gate on the path leading to the cottages, next door to a fishing lake, has been closed and ‘Private’ signs have been attached.

The TV hosts have been driven out of their temporary homes each day after 4pm in a fleet of blacked-out Range Rovers followed by more security in a black estate car.

But since the show began, the TV stars have been advised not to venture out due to the coronavirus pandemic and to ensure that recording and transmission of the show is not disrupted.

A source said: ‘They are among TV’s biggest earners and they are professional enough not to take any risks.

‘The show is massive And if either of the two lads came into contact with the public, it could risk the whole show being affected.

Despite rumours of the pair being in the Snowdonia village, they have not been seen until Wednesday.

One resident of Penmaenmawr, said: ‘Nobody has seen them. It’s rumour after rumour and until today we weren’t sure whether they were actually here.

‘We are all anxious to see them. They are big celebrities and they’ve come to our little town. I hope they come out and do some shopping and have a coffee and a sandwich locally before they leave when the show is finished.

‘I’d like to do a selfie with them remember remember the day that the celebrities came here.’
