As Thanksgiving approaches Jennifer Garner was getting into the spirit of the holiday as she was feeling ‘grateful’ this week for one thing in particular.

The 48-year-old actress took to Instagram to share a throwback snap of her younger self sporting an $8 haircut as she gave thanks to her current hairstylist Adir Abergel.

Garner was suited up for picture day in a red flannel and a yellow corduroy jumper with a very choppy haircut.

Despite slightly roasting herself, it was all in good fun as she wrote she was posting ‘with virtue.’

The post was quick to garner comments from fellow celebrity friends as Molly Sims wrote, ‘This is amazing, grateful for you,’ and Octavia Spencer wrote, ‘Cutie.’

Some were apt to draw comparisons to her lookalike son Sam that she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck, 48, as Jessica Capshaw and Sara Foster could not help but see the resemblance.

Last Thanksgiving things between Garner and her former husband Ben came to a head as the pair were spotted having a very animated conversation the day after the family holiday.

Though the pair were seen heading to the movies with their three children and going Christmas tree shopping, Affleck had been struggling with his sobriety which culminated in a holiday fight.

Garner was pictured driving Ben in his car a day later to a remote hotel near Santa Barbara as he tried to resolve his battle with alcoholism.

In an recent November PBS interview with Kelly Corrigan, Garner called her 13-year-marriage to Ben a ‘total circus,’ as she spoke about now trying to ‘chase peace,’ in her life while protecting her kids from the once looming paparazzi eyes.

Though the former couple have seemed to make serious strides since Ben’s more troubling days, it is unclear if they will be reuniting for the holiday as Affleck has been on set in New Orleans with new love interest Ana De Armas, 32, while filming their movie Deep Water.

Additionally due to the COVID-19 pandemic Governors country wide are urging people not to travel out of state to see loved ones  and to limit gatherings to just their immediate household.

On Tuesday it was announced that the Alias actress has a new project in the works, starring alongside her 13 Going on 30 castmate Mark Ruffalo in an upcoming film called The Adam Project.

The duo who have not been on set together since the 2004 film will be playing parents in the time travel movie, with Ryan Reynolds signing on as the lead character.
