Cygnet failure! Hapless rail staff struggle to round up two runaway swans after they land on station platform

This is the hilarious moment a pair of unruly swans caused havoc on a station platform as staff desperately attempted to remove them.
The incident took place at Bath Spa station, in Bath, Somerset, on Saturday morning as bemused passengers looked on.
While one swan appeared to go quietly, wrapped tightly in a florescent jacket by a Great Western Railway worker, another refused to be picked up.
Footage, captured by passenger Ed Shaw, shows a staff member attempting to throw his coat over the elusive bird before falling over and giving it a chance to flap out of reach.
The elusive bird is then chased along the platform in front of a bemused passenger, before finally being ushered into a stairwell while its partner in crime is still being carried by a rail worker.
Mr Shaw posted the clip to his Instagram account where it has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.

He said: ‘It was pretty funny and quintessentially English.’
The footage has also been posted on Twitter, where several commenters compared the bizarre incident to a scene from ‘Hot Fuzz’.
Echoing a quote from the film, one said: ‘No luck catching them swans, then..’
Another simply added: ‘This is, just on every level, wonderful.’
Meanwhile a more easygoing swan is carried out of the station in a florescent jacket, appearing to look at the camera

Twitter user Michael Le Harvey joked: ‘You can almost hear the second swan scream “don’t let them take you Geoff!! It’s your right to be here. Getoff me!!! My husbands innocent!!!!!”’
To which another user replied: ‘”The Queen will hear of this injustice!!”‘
One Twitter user praised the ‘brave’ rail workers: ‘It is a brave man who picks up a swan … they are very feisty birds!’
