Angie Kent says everyone needs a ‘solid break’ from Bachelor in Paradise

Angie Kent says everyone needs a ‘solid break’ from Bachelor in Paradise after the show was axed by Channel 10 following abysmal ratings

Bachelor in Paradise was given the axe by Channel 10 back in October following lacklustre ratings.

And it seems former Bachelorette Angie Kent agrees with the network’s drastic measures, saying audiences need a ‘break’ from the reality spin-off.

‘I think we all need a solid break from Bachelor in Paradise,’ she told Who on Monday.

She explained: ‘I think after this year’s Bachelor in Paradise and the year we’ve had with COVID and the industry, I think it would be nice for us to focus on really strong people in the industry and not giving platforms to people that don’t treat people very nicely.’

Back in October, Channel 10 confirmed that Bachelor in Paradise will not return for a fourth season next year.

‘We love all the excitement, drama and of course love that Bachelor in Paradise brings, but we have decided to rest it in 2021,’ a spokesperson said.

Bachelor In Paradise doesn’t usually perform as well in the ratings as the main programs, but its figures were particularly disappointing this year.

Just 539,000 people watched the finale on Sunday, August 9.

Meanwhile, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette will both return next year.

Earlier on Tuesday, Angie set the record straight on her love life after splitting with beau Carlin Sterritt in July.

‘I’m not cuddling with anyone, I’m so boring. I would tell you I promise,’ she told the Kyle and Jackie O Show.

‘After dating 20 dudes, like I know that was a year ago now, but like, Carlin and I only broke up a few months ago, so it’s kinda like you don’t want to jump straight back in,’ she explained.

‘Plus, I don’t know if I trust yet,’ the reality TV star added.
