A daredevil skydiver sent hearts racing as was filmed jumping off a hot air balloon before descending into a free-fall – but the video stops before he pulls the parachute.

Josh Neuman, an experienced skydiver from Charlotte, North Carolina, made use of an on-board swing as he leaped from 4,000ft over Perris, southern California on November 15.

The 21-year-old shared the video of his epic jump on social media where concerned viewers flocked to the comments to make sure he survived.

The adrenaline junkie recruited his friend and fellow filmmaker Spencer Shipman to capture the moment he swung from the balloon before free-falling toward the ground below.

In the clip, Josh confidently steps up to the outside platform of the hot-air balloon while, holding onto the swing.

‘See ya!’ he jokes to the camera, as he launches himself into open space, with his feet dangling.

When he reaches the furthest point of the swing, he lets go and drops into a free-fall. 

He plummets to the ground as his friends laugh nervously, watching him on board the hot-air balloon.

The video clip stops short of showing Josh pulling his parachute, but Shipman told Storyful that Neuman ‘landed safely and no one was hurt in the making of the video’.

The video has been uploaded to Josh Neuman’s Instagram and TikTok accounts where it received almost half a million collective views.

Nervous viewers took to the comment section, wanting to know if he had survived the jump.

One user wrote: ‘I need to know what [happened]!! My heart stopped!! Don’t play with my emotions!!’ 

Another concerned viewer named Vanessa wrote: ‘I want to know if [you’re] alive??’

However Josh put the viewers minds at ease as he replied to a comment on Instagram confirming that pulled the parachute and he felt ‘more alive than ever’ after the jump.

The anxiety-inducing clip made others write, ‘This makes my stomach flip’ and one person claimed it ‘made my heard drop as if I was the one jumping’.

Josh Neuman is a pro downhill skateboarder and YouTuber who represents various skate brands. 

He is a hobbyist skydiver, who once said that one of his biggest fears used to be heights, but has gone on to complete almost 60 skydives.
