Mandy Moore revealed she was ‘really sick’ and ‘lost a bunch of weight’ during her first trimester.

On Saturday’s The Jess Cagle Show on SiriusXM, the actress, 36, admitted that while she feels ‘very lucky’ to be expecting her first child with husband Taylor Goldsmith, she was left unable to eat and ‘stayed in bed all day’ when she first fell pregnant.

The This Is Us star insisted she feels ‘much better’ and has regained her energy as she prepares to welcome her son with the singer, 35, early next year.

Detailing the initial challenges, Mandy explained: ‘I feel very lucky. I was really sick in the beginning. I was super sick, but I was home.

‘So, you know, there was, I didn’t have to miss out on work. I don’t know how women do it. I literally woke up and was sick all day long. I couldn’t eat, I lost a bunch of weight. I just like, I just stayed in bed all day.’

The Tangled star went on to insist she no longer has any complaints as she added: ‘But luckily I know that’s not the case for everybody that it sometimes can, you know, persevere for the entire pregnancy.

‘So I’m lucky that that kind of trailed off and I feel much better now, but, um, but beyond that, I feel like I had my energy back and feeling good. Like, yeah, Nope, no complaints.’

The media personality recently expressed her excitement at becoming a mother during this year’s People’s Choice Awards.

As she accepted her award for the Drama TV Star of 2020 for her role as Rebecca Pearson in This Is Us, the screen star said: ‘To the love of my life Taylor, I’m so excited to bring this baby boy into the world with you.

‘This has been a challenging year for everybody so lets please keep each other safe. Let’s continue to wear masks, socially distance, wash your hands and be kind to one another.

‘Playing a matriarch of a family for the last five years and getting to see children at various different chapters and stages, I feel like I’m as pseudo-prepared as I can be.

‘I’ve had babies and toddlers and adult children [on the show], so I’ve gotten a pretty good taste and lay of the land.’
