And now Eddie McGuire has addressed rumoured that former radio host Marty Sheargold will be taking over the gig in 2021.

‘I’ve heard he’s cut my lunch, is that right?’ Eddie joked of Marty, who was previously a host of the Nova show.

It prompted Kate Ritchie to grill the Collingwood Football Club boss for some answers.

‘Don’t pretend you don’t know what’s going on.’ she said.

‘I can tell you, Kate, I deliberately don’t want to know,’ Eddie responded.

‘I said [to Triple M], “I don’t want to know about this for exactly this reason. I don’t want it coming out from me so don’t tell me. I don’t want even a hint.

‘And I’m not interested, good luck and I’ll hang up the microphone next Friday and whoever comes in next I’ll wish them luck.”‘

While it’s not confirmed if Marty will take on the role, he is yet to announce his plans for next year after he quit Nova’s drive show Kate, Tim and Marty in September.
