She has been busy filming Channel 7’s new miniature golf competition series, Holey Moley.
But on Thursday, Sonia Kruger revealed the hilarious text exchange she had with Sophie Monk in the lead up to it, which has left her ‘giggling’ since the TV host did her 14-day mandatory hotel quarantine for the show in Queensland.
Speaking with Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson on KIIS 106.5 on Thursday, the 55-year-old detailed the moment the Love Island Australia host mixed her up with Kyle Sandilands while texting.

‘I got a text from her saying, “Hey babe, changed my number. It’s Soph”… and then she sent me ‘Nice To Meet You’, her song, and I started getting these random messages from Sophie and I wrote back, “That’s super cool. Love it”,’ Sonia divulged.
‘She went, “Thank you, I’m going a bit rogue – you taught me that. I hope you’re happy. It’s bleeping hard”. So I didn’t respond to that because I didn’t know what to say.
‘Then she went, “By the way, Snoop Dog told me King Kyle knows what’s up in AUS years ago… so relatable, laugh out loud emoji”.’
Kyle interjected, questioning whether Sonia believed Sophie thought she was texting him.

‘I think so,’ the mother of one responded. ‘I just wrote back “haha” and she went “don’t haha me. I know you miss me and I’ll always miss you”.’
She continued: ‘”We’ve had too much history. I love Jac[kie] too. Know you care about me. OK, I’m going too deep now, just saying. Just know I care about you and I only put you down on-air to try and look cool”.’
Sonia said the conversation left her in fits of laughter.
‘When you get her on you can tell her it makes me giggle every time I see it,’ she said.
‘I realised she saved your number under my name. My name is her code word for you in case her phone gets stolen.’
Meanwhile, Sonia also revealed she was hospitalised for double pneumonia earlier this year, which she believed was COVID-19 before the diagnosis.

‘I was struggling to breathe,’ she said. ‘I was actually in hospital on oxygen for a week and it was a bit touch and go as to whether I’d actually be able to go to Queensland to do Holey Moley.’
‘But luckily I sort of came good at the eleventh hour and off I went.’
Sonia will be back in 2021 as a host for Holey Moley, Big Brother and the latest season of The Voice.
