I’m A Celebrity 2020: Ruthie Henshall is unimpressed as campmates are served SQUIRREL for dinner

Campmates this series have previously tucked into rabbit, eel, and quail during their time in the castle.

And during Thursday’s episode, I’m A Celebrity newcomer Ruthie Henshall was stunned as they were served SQUIRREL for dinner, exclaiming: ‘Do they not know who I am?’

The West End performer, 53, insisted she wasn’t being ‘ungrateful’ as she moaned after their meal was unveiled after Jordan North’s, 30, impressive 12-star win.

Errr? During Thursday’s episode, I’m A Celebrity newcomer Ruthie Henshall, 53, was stunned as they were served SQUIRREL for dinner, exclaiming: ‘Do they not know who I am?’

After radio host Jordan triumphed in the first solo trial of the series, winning all 12 stars, he read out the scroll when dinner arrived.

He revealed they’d be getting squirrel, which was met with a mixed reaction from the group.

Speaking in the Telegraph, Ruthie joked: ‘I mean, I’m not ungrateful but squirrel. Really? Do they not know who I am?!’

Singer Russell Watson, 53, turned chef for the evening, cooking the meal for camp, and the celebrities were pleasantly surprised as they tucked into his creation.

Their squirrel meal comes after the campmates were horrified as they received dinners of rabbit and eel following successful trials, earlier in the week.

The celebrities were fed Welsh rabbit during Sunday’s launch show, with Beverly Callard protesting: ‘I can’t eat bunny.’

Jessica Plummer claimed she couldn’t eat the food as she’d had a rabbit as a pet when she was younger: ‘I had a pet rabbit when I was a kid called Boris and I just think of him.’

On Monday night, the celebrities were left baffled once again after they were given slimy eel for dinner.

Talking in the Telegraph, Jordan, who faced his fears with Shane Richie to win the meal, voiced his fury

He said: ‘I’ve just been in a piggin vault full of snakes and get home to my castle and I’ve got eel. Eating eel – fish snakes, not fish cakes.’

However, the stars were overjoyed during Tuesday night’s episode when they finally received a half-decent meal of quail, following their previous disappointments.

Celebrities had their fingers crossed for something somewhat more edible than rabbit or eel, and their prayers were soon answered as the delivered quail for everyone, with Jordan North remarking that they were like ‘little chickens.’

The camp soon settled in to tuck into their meal, with everyone especially chuffed that they had been given garlic to add extra flavour to the dish.
