And… she’s gone! Nicole Kidman’s giant mural for her new movie The Undoing is painted over in Kings Cross just days after it debuted

She recently had her likeness painted on the side of a building to promote her new HBO series, The Undoing.

But on Wednesday, the 18-storey portrait of Nicole Kidman, 53, was already being painted over, much to the shock of locals in Kings Cross, Sydney.

The mural, which was unveiled last Saturday morning, made history as being the largest mural in the Southern Hemisphere.

However, all that currently remains of the portrait of Nicole is her decolletage and a glimpse of her signature strawberry blonde curly locks.

Four workers were pictured painting over the eye-catching mural with black paint.

They wore white jumpsuits and safety harnesses as they braved the building heights to cover the image up.

Commissioned by streaming service Binge, the mural required the work of 11 artists over two weeks.

It remained up for several days, and a second mural promoting the series is set to take it’s place. The second mural will be taken down on November 23.

On Monday, Nicole was overcome with emotion when she saw the huge mural for the first time.

She shared a picture to Instagram of herself visiting the artwork, which overlooks one of the city’s most famous streets.

‘WOW!’ Nicole captioned her post. ‘Thank you Sydney for celebrating #TheUndoing. It’s back tonight.’

In the picture, the Oscar-winning actress covers her mouth in amazement as she stands near the mural, which is across the road from Kings Cross’ iconic Coca-Cola billboard.

The Undoing has been a great success for Binge – becoming the most-watched show since the streaming service launched in May.

The drama series is based on Jean Hanff Korelitz’s novel You Should Have Known, and reunites Nicole with her Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley.

She stars in the six-part psychological thriller alongside Hugh Grant.
