- The pair got chatting and got into a long-distance relationship in August
- Having fallen in love, Andrew has left Australia to move in with Rosanna in Paignton, Devon
A love-struck Aussie has moved across the world to be with a British woman he fell in love with after chatting online during the coronavirus pandemic.
Andrew Monck, 33, flew to the UK from Sydney and has moved in with Rosanna Wilson, 32, from Paignton, Devon, after four months of dating.
He was granted an exemption to leave Australia permanently and travelled 10,000 miles in the name of love.

On Tuesday Rosanna met Andrew at Heathrow airport before the pair drove to Devon to start a new life together.
‘It was pretty surreal when we met face to face,’ Andrew said.
‘It had all been done online and so to see her in person and hold her was amazing. It’s really, really easy now we’re together.

‘There’s no awkwardness or anything like that. It’s been a long few days – but worth every minute.’
When Rosanna found out Andrew had been granted his exemption to move she felt ‘very excited’ but also ‘very worried’.
‘Australia was his home and he was travelling through a global pandemic to the UK,’ Rosanna added.
‘When I first met Andrew at the airport he was a lot taller than I realised.

The couple had met once briefly at a mutual friend’s house party in Wales in 2011 but admit they don’t remember much about meeting initially and said it ‘wasn’t their time’.
‘We didn’t really speak much. We had each other on social media and through this mutual friend we heard about each other’s lives,’ Rosanna told The Sun.
Flashing forward to 2020, Andrew, who had moved to Australia, saw his relationship end in March, before Rosanna broke up with her partner in June.

Each morning, Andrew would go to the beach and watche the sun rise with Rosanna on a video call, then he will catch up with her later in the day
Rosanna decided to set up a Youtube channel called The 30-Something Singleton and soon after was contacted by Andrew who said he help give a ‘thirty-something single man’s perspective’.
While Rosanna at first thought he just wanted to be interviewed, the moment he came on screen they realised they had feeling for each other.
‘I hadn’t seen him in 10 years and I went ‘oh, you’ve changed’. I was flirting with him – I’m not going to lie,’ said Rosanna.
‘Ever since then he knew that I liked him and he started flirting back. The interview was in the bin.’
