Today Extra’s Sylvia Jeffreys tears Woman’s Day to shreds live on Today Extra after the magazine claimed her husband Peter Stefanovic was ‘at war’ with his older brother Karl

Sylvia Jeffreys has slammed a tabloid magazine for claiming her husband, Peter Stefanovic, is ‘at war’ with his older brother, Karl Stefanovic.

On Tuesday, the Today Extra host, 34, ripped into Woman’s Day for publishing an article she claimed was the ‘greatest fiction of all time’.

‘I just couldn’t help but notice, the Stefanovics are at war… brothers Pete and Karl are at war, jealousy over career things,’ she said on air.

Ripping them to shreds! On Tuesday, Today Extra’s Sylvia Jeffreys slammed a Woman Day’s article claiming her husband Peter Stefanovic and his brother Karl ‘are at war’ and calls the story ‘greatest fiction of all time’

The article in question quoted a ‘close family friend’ as saying that Karl was ‘jealous’ of Peter’s career at Sky News Australia.

Peter recently flew to Washington, D.C., to cover the presidential election – an opportunity Today anchor Karl apparently wanted for himself.

‘A part of Karl has always envied Pete’s career as a foreign correspondent and the freedom he has to head off on assignments, so it must’ve been frustrating for him to watch from afar,’ the source claimed.

‘It didn’t help seeing younger brother Pete standing on the White House lawn in the U.S. capital, while Karl was forced to make an awkward appearance at the State of Origin opening match,’ they added.

Sylvia’s Today Extra co-host David Campbell asked in disbelief: ‘Who is winning the war? Sorry, did you know they were at war?’

She joked that her and Peter’s son, Oscar, was in fact winning because he’d just learned to stand up on his own.

‘Woman’s Day. The greatest fiction of all time. It’s almost science fiction,’ Sylvia added, dismissing the false claims.
