The house party was held in the residential area of San Pedro Alcantara on the Costa del Sol on Saturday, in apparent defiance of coronavirus restrictions.

The police arrived at around 9.15pm and broke up the social gathering, sanctioning 23 revellers for breaking rules such as not wearing mandatory face masks and not practising social distancing.

The party was reportedly organised by the unnamed owner of the company Hellosaturday, which represents online influencers, and a report against the suspect has been filed by the police, according to local media.

Officers evicted revellers from the house, but organisers have been promoting the event as lasting until tomorrow.

The party comes as authorities in the southern region of Andalusia introduced a curfew between 10pm to 7am in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus as well as halting all ‘non-essential’ activities.

Spain’s national state of emergency, which covers the country’s 17 regions, also limits public and private gatherings to six people.

The Andalusian government recorded 3,179 cases of hospitalisation, while 503 are in intensive care units.

Bars and restaurants have to close by 9.30 pm, although delivery services are allowed to continue until 11.30 pm.

Meanwhile, venues have to operate with 30 per cent capacity inside and 75 per cent in terraces.

Marbella will enter a tier-4 lockdown which will see the closure of all nightclubs and bars on 23rd November.
