Mariska Hargitay and Kelli Giddish slip on protective masks while filming Law & Order: SVU in NYC… four days after premiere of season 22
TV’s longest-running primetime drama, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, returned for the premiere of season 22 on NBC, Thursday, November 12.
And just four days later, the cast and crew were still hard at work shooting scenes for future episodes that will likely air into spring.
Leading lady Mariska Hargitay, who plays Police Captain Olivia Benson, was spotted in action alongside co-star Kelli Giddish, who plays Detective Amanda Rollins, in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan’s West Side.

Harigitay, 56, was the picture of her character in black jeans with a black zipper-top and black boots.
With the autumn chill in the air, the actress covered up in a black, white and grey overcoat and her dark brown tresses styled long with a part on the slight left.
In one scene, the pair were seen walking along a street together as they began to slip on their protective masks.
Giddish, 40, was also bundled up in a black long overcoat for the shoot and her blonde tresses styled long with a center part.

To mark Thursday’s premiere, Hargitay took to Instagram that day and shared a short video from the set where she announced: ‘Happy show day.’
She then turned the camera on longtime co-star Ice-T and newcomer Jamie Gray Hyder, who both helped tease the season 22 premiere, with the former adding: ‘It’s going to be worth it.’
The California native also shared a second video in promotion of show day on her Instagram page. For this one, she panned the set to show the many cast and crew members it takes to shoot a scene for the hit show.
