Katy Perry debuts new hairdo with a top pony as she films Claudia Conway after American Idol tryout

She’s been basking in the glow of new motherhood as well as her most recent album.

And Katy Perry was busy promoting another aspect of her multifaceted career on Monday, when she uploaded some fabulous new shots to her Instagram on the set of American Idol. 

Perry, 36, is one of the judges of the hit reality competition show.

In the duo of snaps, Katy showed off a fabulous new hairdo, featuring a lavish top ponytail with cascading crimped blonde locks.  

The Hot N Cold songstress also wore elaborate dangling earrings, along with a blue, green and gold textured metallic blouse.

She chose a reflective if rather cryptic caption for the post: ‘what do u value’

And on her Instagram stories, the Dark Horse hitmaker modeled a sleeker blonde hairstyle, along with hippie-inspired peace sign pearl earrings and a floral suit.

In the brief snippet, Katy was seen outside on a gravel driveway.

She said to the camera, ‘Well well well, let the games begin, because Claudia just tried out for American Idol!’

Perry panned the camera over to reveal Claudia Conway, the 16-year-old daughter of former White House advisor Kellyanne Conway, standing in a bandeau top and leather pants. 

Claudia was grinning ear to ear, and said ‘Hi!’ to the camera twice.

The younger Conway has developed somewhat of a following thinks to a presence on TikTok, where she has repeatedly shared candid posts as to the goings-on behind closed doors at her home.

Katy is currently at work shooting the 19th season of American Idol. 

She, along with co-judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, are set to return when Idol premieres next year. 

Ryan Seacrest has been hosting the series ever since 2002. 

American Idol first premiered on Fox, where it ran for 15 seasons until 2016. 

It was then on hiatus until the spring of 2018, when it was picked back up by ABC.
