Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Channel Ten for comment.

Channel Ten announced that due to the pandemic, the show has relocated from the South African jungle to rural NSW this year.

Usually filmed in early January, with parts of the competition broadcast live, the show will also lose its live format.

The Australian production of I’m A Celebrity will take over the set of the UK version of the show.

The campsite is located in Murwillumbah, in north-eastern New South Wales – just north of Byron Bay – and less than an hour from the Gold Coast.

It comes after disgraced celebrity chef Pete Evans was sensationally dumped from I’m a Celebrity… at the eleventh hour for posting a neo-Nazi meme to Facebook over the weekend.

‘Network 10 can confirm that Pete Evans will not be appearing on this season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ a spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday.

According to former Channel 10 executive Rob McKnight, Evans was left ‘furious’ by the decision.

‘This morning at 6:30am the call came through from Beverley McGarvey [Channel 10’s chief content officer] to the production house and she said, ‘He’s out, don’t let him go into the jungle,” McKnight told Nova FM’s Fitzy & Wippa.

‘He is now packing his bags and returning to Byron Bay, which isn’t a big drive from where they shoot I’m a Celebrity, and he is apparently furious,’ he added.
