The Married At First Sight feud that just won’t end: Ines Basic calls for Sam Ball to ‘clear the air’ amid rumours they could reunite at the AACTA Awards

Their on-screen affair on Married At First Sight has remarkably earned them an AACTA Audience Choice Award nomination for Favourite TV Moment of the Decade, sparking rumours they will reunite for the ceremony.

And now Ines Basic is calling for her former flame Sam Ball to ‘clear the air’ as she hopes to settle their feud ahead of them possibly joining forces on the red carpet.

‘What if we do win?’ Ines, 30, told Daily Mail Australia. ‘What’s to say that we do get invited? would he do a no-show and then I’d be left standing there and accept it myself?’

She added: ‘But then again, what if he did show up? He’s been missing this whole time and hasn’t been held accountable for what he’s done.

‘I would prefer that he contact me prior because I don’t want to turn up and not know how to act around him.’

Ines and Sam, 27, cut off contact after he stood her up at the cast reunion on Married At First Sight last year.

She has since been vocal about the legitimacy of their relationship, saying she genuinely believed they would be together after the show.

Meanwhile, Sam has maintained their fling was a sham orchestrated by producers.

Ines was reminded of her heartbreak recently after Sam resurfaced on social media following a six-month hiatus.

‘Being nominated with him then him resurfacing in the public eye did bring up old emotions that were unresolved, as I’m sure it would to anyone in my position but I’m pretty over it now,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I don’t think we’ll win [the AACTA Audience Choice Award]. There’s some really good competition there… [but] it would have been nice to clear the air in case we do have to be at the same event. I’m not expecting it to happen.

‘It would be an amazing experience to be invited to the event… I am truly shocked [we] even got nominated. I didn’t realise how much of an impact it had.’

When approached for comment, Sam told Daily Mail Australia he ‘had no idea’ he was nominated for the award alongside Ines.

He said the 2018 Tham Luang cave rescue in Thailand was a more deserving TV moment.

The Army recruit also explained why he had not reached out to Ines.

‘I think she has me blocked,’ Sam said. ‘Lost my old phone, got a new one and it’s not an iPhone so lost all my contacts.

‘I don’t have many peoples numbers. Only family and friends that I’m in contact with all the time, and she has me blocked.’
