The Sunday Telegraph has reported that Emmy Award winner Toni was initially planning to film her Netflix series in Canada pre-pandemic.

But after receiving federal funding Down Under, she will begin filming for the series in Sydney early next year.

Speaking of the decision, Toni said: ‘I am thrilled that the producers and Netflix have been able to relocate Pieces of Her to film in Australia so that production can remain on track and this story can be told.

‘For me, it also brings with it the great jot of shooting at home in Australia.’

Meanwhile, Chris and his fellow Hollywood co-stars Miles Tiller and Jurnee Smollett will begin filming Spiderhead at the Gold Coast Convention Centre in the next few days.

Back in September, the Sunday Telegraph reported that the hunk signed a four-movie Netflix deal, including Joseph Kosinski’s Spiderhead.

Chris is reportedly negotiating for the three other films to also be filmed in Australia.

Federal Arts Minister Paul Fletcher has gushed that the funding delivered to Chris and Toni will create over 770 local jobs and would inject $170 million into the economy.

Back in August, Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings resumed filming in western Sydney after production was suspended in February due to COVID-19 fears.
