Robyn Lawley calls for diversity in the modelling industry and says she won’t ‘shut up’ because it’s important to ‘represent what we see on the streets’

She’s the body positive model who is a passionate advocate for size diversity on the fashion runway.  

And on Thursday, Robyn Lawley revealed she has no plans on backing down and changing her beliefs any time soon, despite being told to ‘keep [her] mouth shut’ on numerous occasions.

‘They tell me to shut up all the time,’ the 31-year-old told The Daily Telegraph.

‘I am a woman who stands up. I’m not going to stand down any time soon,’ the six-foot-three leggy stunner told the publication.   

The stunning brunette, who will be judging the 2020 Bella Unsigned Model Search, went on to say that diversity in modelling is now more important than ever.   

‘I feel like we have got to start representing what we actually see on the streets,’ she added.

In September, Robyn sustained horrific injuries after falling over during a seizure.

At the time she shared a number of confronting photos of the cuts and bruises all over her face, including one of her ‘Satan’s eye’. 

Robyn, who suffers from lupus and APS (antiphospholipid antibody syndrome), shared an inspiring and supportive message following the incident.

‘Fellow sufferers you are not alone,’ she began.

‘Sometimes social media can feel so intimidating, sometimes I can’t stand it and other time I love when people can show their true selves,’ she wrote. 

‘Even if it’s as uncomfortable as this photo (fellow sufferers you are not alone).’  

Robyn became the first plus-size model to appear in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue in 2015.
