Emma Willis predicts Giovanna Fletcher will struggle being separated from her kids on I’m A Celeb

Emma Willis has predicted best pal Giovanna Fletcher will struggle being separated from her children on I’m A Celeb – as she backs her to win the series.

The Voice host, 44, said the mother-of-three will ‘desperately miss’ her family after being apart from them for up to four weeks if she makes the final stages of the show.

In a new interview, Emma told MailOnline that she will be voting for Giovanna to win as she hopes for her to follow in the footsteps of Dougie Poynter and her husband, Matt Willis, who are both former Kings of the Jungle.

Emma, who will host this Saturday’s final of The Voice on ITV, said: ‘If she’s in there until the end it’s three weeks and she’s also in isolation without her children so that will be four weeks. That’s a bloody long time for any parent.

‘I have no doubt it will get to her and she will desperately miss them. She watches I’m A Celeb every year and she knows exactly what she is getting herself into.

‘It’s one of those things where you’re like, “I’ll do it, it’ll be amazing and you get there and the environment you’re in,” the tasks you’re taking on and the lack of food and sleep, they will start getting to you and who knows what kinds of emotions will start coming out.

‘She’s pretty clued up and is a huge fan of the show. Doug has won it, Matt has won it, all of our McBusted family has taken part so she knows what to expect.’

Giovanna, who’s married to McFly singer Tom Fletcher, 35, and is a mum to Buzz, six, Buddy, four, and Max, two, will be appearing on this year’s I’m A Celeb, which launches on Sunday in Wales, alongside the likes of Vernon Kay and Victoria Derbyshire.

Emma and Giovanna have been close friends for years after meeting through their musician husbands, who went on to star together in McBusted, a supergroup of their respective bands McFly and Busted.

Their families often enjoy play dates together, with the friends commenting on the fact they share six children between them, as Emma is a mum to Isabelle, 11, Ace, eight, and Trixie-Grace, four.

Emma had to keep quiet about Giovanna signing up for the show for months before it was revealed and said she and husband Matt tried to offer their best suggestions for the campmate’s luxury item.

‘I have known for ages and haven’t been allowed to talk about it,’ Emma explained.

‘Matt didn’t give her any tips; he just said ‘you’re going to have the best time of your life.’ It’s one of Matt’s most favourite experiences. He had the best time in there.

‘She came round just before lockdown and I asked what her luxury item is going to be – and I said you have to take long, tight, cycling shorts, so then bugs don’t crawl up the places you don’t want them to crawl up! Because no one wants a cockroach up the butt!

‘But she wasn’t allowed to because it’s clothing; you can only take clothing that they provide.’

Emma is preparing to host the final of The Voice on Saturday, after the ITV talent show was postponed for months due to coronavirus.

But after a long wait, Emma said coaches Tom Jones, Olly Murs, Will.I.Am and Meghan Trainor, and their acts, are ready to finally compete for the title.

She said: ‘Having such a big gap is really odd because we’ve just filmed auditions for the next series so I’m a bit all over the place.

‘I am really pleased we are getting to do it and they have a final – they have waited such a long time and they need a result.’

After months of being stuck indoors, Emma has revealed she will be dressed to perfection on Saturday, though she’s worried she may fall on her face due to being unable to hold her runner’s hand as she struts the stage in a glamorous fishtail gown.

She said: ‘I’ve got a right old number to wear and it’s very sparkly.

‘The only problem is this could be the year I fall on my face. Its long and fishtail, which is not very me at all but it’s an incredible dress.

‘Normally I have an amazing guy called Ed who’s the assistant floor manager who tells me where I need to go and he always holds my hand up the stairs but we can’t touch each other.

So they have bought me a walking stick, I s*** you not it’s in my dressing room, and I’ll hold one end and Ed will hold the other because it’s quite long, f*** knows I’ll probably end up on my face!

‘Luckily it’s pre recorded, so if I do there will be a quick edit!’

The Voice 2020 Final is on Saturday November 14 at 8.40pm on ITV
