Millie Bobby Brown is starring in and executive producing a new original movie for Netflix.

The 16-year-old actress has been cast in Damsel, according to a Wednesday report from Deadline.

The Stranger Things breakout star will portray Princess Elodie, who believes she will be married to a prince and instead finds out that she is to be sacrificed to a dragon.

Making strides: Millie Bobby Brown will both executive produce and star in the upcoming Netflix original movie Damsel; seen in October

The film will be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo from a script written by Dan Mazeau. Fresnadillo was previously nominated for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film in 1996.

A release date for the film has not been set at this time.

This announcement follows the success of the Netflix original movie Enola Holmes, which the actress starred in alongside Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham Carter.

The film, which Brown also produced, was originally set to be distributed theatrically by Warner Bros. Pictures before Netflix acquired the rights in April.

The movie was based on the series of young adult mystery fiction novels written by Nancy Springer.

Enola Jones was an immense success for the platform and became Netflix’s biggest opening day title this year to date.

Brown has received many accolades for her work on Stranger Things, including two Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

The actress, along with the rest of the show’s cast, collectively received the 2017 SAG Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series award.

Production on the fourth season of the science fiction show was already underway earlier this year when it was suddenly halted in mid-March due to the onset of COVID-19.

After months with no activity, production resumed on the series in late September when the actors returned to Georgia.

Brown is also set to feature in the upcoming monster film Godzilla vs. Kong, where she will reprise her role from 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

The film was originally set to premiere this month, but was delayed to May 21, 2021 due to the challenges presented by the global pandemic.

It is set to be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX.
