MAFS star Ryan Gallagher appears to return to his labourer roots

Married At First Sight star Ryan Gallagher appears to have returned to his former life as a labourer.

On Monday, almost three years on from rising to fame on Nine’s controversial experiment, Ryan was seen putting in the hard yards landscaping on the Gold Coast.

Working up a sweat in a grey singlet, the 32-year-old used his muscles to shovel holes at what appeared to be his property.

The former tradie-turned-reality TV has had many other media careers since first appearing as a groom on MAFS.

Ryan didn’t appear fussed to get his hands dirty this week, tending to a lawn to mark up the property for renovations.

The lovable larrikin used string, a tape measure and spray can to mark up the grass for holes.

Dressed comfortably, Ryan wore a pair of grey shorts and steel cap boots during the labourer work.

Ryan appeared to be tending to his own gardens, as a previous photo had the same house in the background.

The post sparked dating rumours with Angie, who is newly-single after her split from Carlin Sterritt.

While Angie hasn’t respond to any of the romance speculation, she uploaded the same photo of them together on her own Instagram story.

Sydney-based Angie is currently on the Gold Coast filming her debut film, The Possessed, alongside actors John Jarratt and Lincoln Lewis.

Ryan tried his hand at stand-up comedy in 2018, appearing at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and doing a mini tour of Australia.

His tour circuit at the time was highly criticised, as he made jokes at the expense of his co-stars and TV ex-wife Davina Rankin.

Davina threatened to sue Ryan if he continued to make jokes at the expense after he allegedly referred to her as a ‘pig’ during a comedy skit.

‘So, Davina’s threatening to sue me. Well, ah, good luck, f**k. I was shocked. Not at the fact she’s suing me. It’s the most attention she’s paid me since we were married.’

‘And good f—ing luck suing me, too. All I got is two French bulldogs and a beard trimmer. She could do with a beard trimmer, though,’ he said at the time.

Ryan also made sure to reference his time on MAFS when introduced as a 2020 contestant on I’m A Celebrity this year.

‘A few of you might know me from my terrible experience. It wasn’t a terrible experience, it was terrible. We didn’t have fun. I’m not married anymore,’ he joked.

He also revealed he’s cut all ties with his former MAFS co-stars since leaving the popular franchise.

In October 2019, Ryan landed a national radio show with 2DayFM – The Sunday Experiment with Ryan and Mandy 8pm – 10pm.

It appears he left the series only two months later in December 2019.
