Vanessa Hudgens adds another doppelganger into the mix in trailer for The Princess Switch 2: Switched Again
Vanessa Hudgens is returning as not one, not two, but three whole characters in the followup to her Netflix holiday hit The Princess Switch.
The Disney Channel alum, 31, continues to charm as she takes the spotlight in the first trailer for The Princess Switch 2: Switched Again, out Monday.
While Princess Stacy of Belgravia tries to rekindle doppelganger Duchess Margaret’s romance with her ex, another Vanessa – the party girl Lady Fiona – tries to con her way to the throne of the fictional state of Montenaro.
Double trouble: Vanessa Hudgens is getting into the holiday spirit as not just two, but three characters in The Princess Switch 2: Switched Again
Triple threat: While look-a-likes Princess Stacy of Belgravia tries to set doppelganger Duchess Margaret back up with her ex, another Vanessa – the party girl Lady Fiona – tries to con her way to the throne of the fictional state of Montenaro
In the clip Stacy explains how she and Margaret attempted another Parent Trap-style switch to get the soon-to-be coronated Duchess to reconnect with her long-distance ex Kevin, Stacy’s close friend, played by Nick Sagar.
‘What could possibly come between two people that look at each other like that?’ Stacy asks.
The answer: Margaret’s cousin Lady Fiona Pemborke, a platinum blonde party girl version of the royal as well as her handsome royal pal Antonio (Lachlan Nieboer.)

‘Why can’t I be queen?’ she asks her henchmen, before seen tinting her hair black and cooing ‘Off with their heads’ into the mirror, à la the Queen Of Hearts.
Hudgens knew she was in for a challenge when she read the script for The Princess Switch 2: Switched again, telling Entertainment Weekly: ‘After I read it I thought, “Ooh man, this is going to be a lot of work.”‘
‘Three of me? Me, myself, and I! I was very excited to create yet another character and had such a blast doing so.

If three Hudgens wasn’t enough, a third Princess Switch movie is in the works, set for a 2021 release.
