Trendsetters go WILD for River Island’s £85 feather pyjama set

Trendsetters who are adapting their wardrobes for fashion-forward styles at home amid the Covid-19 pandemic have been gushing over River Island’s luxurious pyjama set. 

The British High Street retailer is selling a feather cuff pyjama top for £40 and matching trousers for £45, which proved so popular that both items sold out within hours of the launch.

Available in black and polka dot print, the statement outfit has proven popular with Instagram influencers and celebrities, including the likes of Emily Atack and Munroe Bergdorf.  

Social media users have even gone so far as to dub the unlikely hit a must-have for Christmas Day.

The high-street retailer has also been inundated with direct messages and comments on Instagram from those eager to know when the look will be back in stock.

Due to the ‘incredible’ demand, River Island is set to restock the pieces within the next two weeks.   

Lucy Nutter, who is Head of Womenswear Buying at River Island, said: ‘We’re excited to launch the only non-essential, essential PJ set that your wardrobe needs – the ultimate stay at home style staple for dressing up (for the supermarket), or down (for the sofa) as these are definitely not to be slept on! 

‘We hope our customer loves them as much as we do, and all of our friends of RI who’ve been spotted (quite literally) on (insta)gramglam, wearing these today and for the foreseeable.’

Impressed with the design made entirely from polyester, fans of the brand have taken to Instagram to gush about wearing the fashionable ensemble throughout lockdown.

One person wrote: ‘Obsessed with this boujie set. Come through River Island, Saturday night at home is saved!’

‘I love this lock down chic look,’ another enthused.

Among the influencers who’ve demonstrated how the outfit should be worn is Leonie Hanne from Germany.

Boasting almost 3 million followers, she posed in the polka dot set by pairing it with strappy black heels for a high-fashion look.

Meanwhile, Connie Simmonds ,who is an author with over 58,000 followers, gave the outfit a more relaxed look by sweeping her hair to the side in loose waves.

She completed the ensemble by coordinating it with a pink handbag and heeled sandals.

Elsewhere, Jessica Skye showed her 90,000 followers how the look can provide effortless style while working from home.
