The REAL reason why Jackson Warne nailed the sniper challenge on SAS Australia

The REAL reason why Jackson Warne nailed the sniper challenge on SAS Australia… and it has something to do with his famous father Shane Warne

The remaining recruits were put through an intense hostage rescue simulation on Monday’s episode of SAS Australia, with only Jackson Warne and Merrick Watts passing the task.

Before running into a dilapidated building to retrieve a hostage and take out the kidnappers, Jackson, 21, admitted growing up with his famous father, former cricketer Shane Warne, had prepared him for the challenge.

‘One thing I am really good at is awareness, because every time me and dad would go on holidays, we’d always spot out the photographers hiding in the bushes or their cars,’ he confessed.

‘Being able to block that out and not letting it affect you, and not taking it personally is a big thing.’

After running into the room with the hostage and the kidnappers, Jackson had a split second to determine who was who, before successfully taking out the kidnappers.

‘Shot that one, shot that one. Correct. Well done,’ DS (directing staff) Billy Billingham praised Jackson.

Billy then asked him to identify the hostage, which he also did successfully.

Added a clearly impressed Billy: ‘That was f**king good.’

Having to deal with the paparazzi turned out to be an unlikely benefit to growing up in the public eye, after Jackson previously spoke about the pitfalls of having a famous dad.

During an interrogation on SAS Australia last month, Jackson revealed he’d decided to appear on the series in an effort to step out from his 51-year-old dad’s shadow.

‘It’s been pretty frustrating my whole life. Whenever I walk into a room or meet someone, it’s always, “Oh, that’s Shane Warne’s son, Jackson,” it’s never, “That’s Jackson,”‘ he admitted.

‘I just want to be Jackson. Doing this, I know I can prove to people that no matter how easy my childhood was, I can still do the tough stuff and still push myself physically and mentally.’
