EXCLUSIVE: Bachelor star Irena Srbinovska reveals she turned down a ‘generous offer’ to appear on the upcoming season of I’m A Celeb!

Irena Srbinovska won the heart of Locky Gilbert on this year’s Bachelor.

And it appears Channel 10 executives were hopeful to see the star trade the mansion’s cocktail parties for a jungle campsite on the upcoming season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Daily Mail Australia understands the 31-year-old nurse ‘turned down a generous offer’ to join the star-studded cast for 2021.

‘There were talks,’ Irena confessed on Monday, before she revealed she politely declined an offer.

‘I think it would have been a lot of fun, however I just got to Perth and I have too much going on right now,’ she explained.

A television source told Daily Mail, ‘Irena and Bec Cvilikas, [who placed third on the reality show] were strong contenders for the jungle.’

‘Carlin [Sterritt from Angie Kent’s season of The Bachelorette] was also a favourite with Endemol [Shine Australia producers] to appear on the show.’

Last week, Woman’s Day reported that several controversial stars were potentially being considered by the network.

Disgraced celebrity chef Pete Evans and party-loving Instagram sensation Tammy Hembrow were both tipped to head into the jungle.

Another candidate on Channel 10’s wish list was apparently former Home and Away actress Bec Hewitt.

It comes as it was revealed the coronavirus pandemic has forced producers to get creative.

The upcoming reality series will feature dramatic changes, including being filmed at a local set, and will lose its live format.

The campsite is located in Murwillumbah, just north of Byron Bay, and less than an hour from the Gold Coast.
