Fans were left scratching their heads when the SAS Australia Instagram account shared a throwback photo of one of the show’s Directing Staff.

In the picture, the young man is just 18 and posing for a military portrait in full uniform. 

The caption asked:’ This DS was just 18 when this was taken! Can you guess which of our Directing Staff is in this #Throwback? #SASAustralia’.

However it didn’t take long for most people to guess the lad with the cheeky smile is none other than former UK Special Forces Soldier Ollie Ollerton. 

The 49-year-old military veteran joined the Marines at 18 and toured Northern Ireland and Iraq before he joined the Special Boat Services. 

Last week, Ollie has revealed that he suffered a setback of his own after having to scrap his extravagant James Bond-themed wedding in July because of the coronavirus pandemic.

He revealed he had planned to free-fall from a plane, drive an Aston Martin before hopping on a motorbike to meet his fiancée Laura Gander at the altar. 

Speaking to news.com.au, ‘gutted’ Ollie explained that his and Laura’s nuptials was themed: ‘Bond, Babes and Villains’. 

He revealed: ‘I was going to free fall into the wedding from a plane. We had Aston Martin’s on standby to pick me up and take me into the wedding to a certain point.

‘Then, for the final leg, I was going to get onto my 1971 classic cafe racer [motorbike] and ride in to meet my bride,’ Ollie said.

Ollie says that he and his other half may not revisit the Bond theme once they start planning for their wedding again.

Ollie announced his engagement to Laura in a post shared to his Instagram on New Year’s Eve in December 2019.
