‘Made me smile’: Married At First Sight star Cameron Merchant revels in fatherhood as he shares adorable footage of one-month-old son Oliver bonding with wife Jules Robinson

Married At First Sight couple Cameron Merchant and Jules Robinson welcomed their first child, son Oliver Chase, on October 3.

And Cameron, 36, was every inch the doting father on Sunday, sharing adorable footage to Instagram of the newborn bonding with his mother at their home.

Little Oliver looked cute as a button in a white onesie, as Jules, 38, beamed at him and proceeded to sing the nursery rhyme, ‘If You’re Happy And You Know It’.

‘Never thought Sunday’s could get any better. Genuine smiles and laughs from our little man this morning and not just the “I’ve just past wind type” of smile,’ Cameron wrote in the post’s caption.

The retired cricketer added the hashtags ‘made me smile’, ‘first smiles’ and ‘clap your hands’.

Cameron shared two precious photos of Oliver smiling at his mother, followed by a short clip of Jules singing the nursery rhyme and clapping his little hands together.

The reality star couple announced they were expecting in The Sunday Telegraph’s Stellar magazine in April, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Jules, who found out she was pregnant in January, told the publication at the time: ‘I’ve had my moments – times of sadness, fear, despair and tears, fuelled by hormones. We’re all in this together, though. It has to be okay.’

Cameron and Jules had tried throughout 2019 to conceive a child, but had faced difficulties because of Jules’ age.

‘Because of my age I had done all the hormone testing, the egg count… so much is instilled that you’re going to struggle because of your age,’ she said.
