Declan Donnelly heads to Wales with wife Ali Astall for I’m A Celeb

Declan Donnelly was spotted stocking up on groceries in London on Friday for a long road trip to Wales, ahead of I’m A Celebrity’s launch next week.  

The presenter, 45, picked up a newspaper before leaving the capital with wife Ali Astall, 42, and daughter Isla, two.

This year has seen the series relocate from Australia to North Wales due to travel concerns sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the stars having to isolate before heading to Gwrych Castle.

Dec, who will have to undergo Covid tests throughout his presenting stint, cut a casual figure for the journey in black joggers, a sweatshirt and Nike trainers. 

The Geordie TV star donned a baseball cap and a black face mask as he headed into a newsagents. 

Dec was later spotted loading items in the back of a large taxi before setting off on the journey.

This year’s I’m A Celebrity lineup will be officially unveiled during an ITV special titled A Jungle Story on Sunday, which will see hosts Ant and Dec look back at 19 series of trials, challenges and jungle hardship. 

According to The Sun,  Radio One star Jordan North is the 12th and final celebrity confirmed to be moving into the Welsh camp later this month.

The radio presenter is fondly known as ‘the supply teacher’ by fans,and since September has hosted the mid-morning weekend slot after acting as a fill-in for many years.

Jordan has become the 12th and final celebrity to reportedly be confirmed for this year’s lineup, days after presenter Giovanna Fletcher was also thought to have signed up.

EastEnders star Shane Richie is also thought to have signed up, after much of his work was cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Shane is best known for his role as Alfie Moon on EastEnders where he starred alongside Jessie Wallace, who played his wife Kat Slater.  

Sir Mo Farah has also reportedly negotiated a huge fee for his first reality TV appearance on I’m A Celebrity, with one report suggesting he’s being paid a whopping £300k fee.  

The huge pay packet would make the athlete the highest paid celeb on the 2020 series, according to The Sun, with ITV bosses said to be splashing out a huge £1million to secure top talent.

Presenter Vernon Kay meanwhile is rumoured to be earning a £150k fee for the series, while his wife Tess Daly continues her hosting duties on Strictly Come Dancing.

Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard is said to be on £125k, despite sparking concern she may not take part in the show after a botched hip surgery. 

Opera singer Russell Watson is thought to be on £100k, and was pictured heading to a pre-show photoshoot last month.

Rounding out the lineup are Para-athlete Holly Arnold and ex Strictly pro AJ Pritchard, who are both thought to be on £50k each.

AJ reportedly signed up after quitting the Strictly professional lineup earlier this year, and has previously vowed to become ‘the new Ant and Dec’ with his brother, ex-Love Island star Curtis. 

A representative for I’m A Celebrity declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline. 

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here returns on Sunday, November 15th at 9pm on ITV.
