RHOBH alum Brandi Glanville blames Xanax for her ‘insensitive’ post on Erika Girardi’s divorce

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Brandi Glanville publicly apologized on Tuesday for sharing an ‘insensitive’ post announcing her former castmate Erika Girardi’s divorce.

And while the 47-year-old Unfiltered podcaster deleted the Instagram post linking to a Celeb Buzz article, the link remains in her bio and the entire post is still on her Facebook page.

‘I took a Xanax earlier because of what’s going on in this world,’ Brandi – who boasts 1.6M social media followers – tweeted.  

‘I didn’t see the post on my IG about @erikajayne until this eve & I deleted it the second I saw it. As I’ve said in the past [I] lease my social media out. I in no way would’ve been that insensitive.’

Indeed, five hours earlier, Glanville urged her fans to take ‘Xanax’ and watch ‘Christmas movies’ if they were also ‘having trouble getting through’ election day.

The Atlanta-born 49-year-old filed for dissolution of her 21-year marriage to her second husband Thomas Girardi in Los Angeles County Court ‘after much consideration.’

‘This is not a step taken lightly or easily. I have great love and respect for Tom and for our years and the lives we built together,’ Erika said in a statement to E! News.   

‘It is my absolute wish to proceed through this process with respect and with the privacy that both Tom and I deserved. I request others give us that privacy as well.’

Girardi (born Chahoy) originally met the 81-year-old attorney while cocktail waitressing at West Hollywood restaurant Chasen’s where he was a regular.

The Savage X Fenty catwalker and Thomas had an unconventional May-December marriage had no prenuptial agreement, and he refused to wear a wedding band.

Coincidentially, Erika’s first husband was also named Thomas (last name Zizzo) and they parented 28-year-old son Tommy Jr. – who’s a LAPD officer – during their five-year marriage, which ended in 1996.  

Glanville had already been demoted to ‘guest’ status by the time Girardi joined the cast as a Housewife in the sixth season of the Bravo reality series.

The 5ft10in former model knows better having been through her own painful divorce in 2010 from philandering ex-husband Eddie Cibrian, with whom she has two sons – Mason, 17; and Jake, 13.

The 47-year-old actor went on to wed two-time Grammy winner LeAnn Rimes in 2011 following their extramarital affair on the 2008 set of Lifetime movie Northern Lights.
