Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick details IVF journey with wife Kate Brooks after welcoming son Edward

She welcomed her first child, a son called Edward, with producer wife Kate Brooks last month.

And Michelle Hardwick has revealed that her IVF journey with Kate had been a ‘rollercoaster of emotions’ as she shared a series of personal snaps on Wednesday to mark National Fertility Awareness Week.

The Emmerdale star, 44, gave Instagram fans a glimpse into the couple’s route to parenthood, remarking that despite the emotional time, she wouldn’t change the experience ‘for the whole world!’

Michelle uploaded a range of snaps to show the couples journey from the very first injections, to holding little Edward, known as Teddy, in their arms.

One snap shows the couple crossing their fingers as they prepared to transfer Kate’s eggs to Michelle.

While a different photos shows the duo’s elation as they hold a positive pregnancy test. 

With an additional snap sees the Vanessa Woodfield actress showing off her burgeoning baby bump while pregnant with Teddy.

Captioning the images, Michelle penned: ‘As it is National Fertility Week, we just wanted to share a glimpse of our amazing IVF journey. 

‘From the initial injections, to the transfer of Kate’s egg to me, it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions, but one we wouldn’t change for the whole world! 

‘We were extremely lucky that it worked first time, as we know the journey can be a lot harder for some. So whatever stage you are at with your fertility treatment, try and stay strong and stay positive. Teddy, you made it all worthwhile.’

Several of Michelle’s Emmerdale co-stars were quick to respond to her post, with Fiona Wade (Priya Kotecha) remarking: ‘These pictures are just incredible beautiful, amazing.. So So happy for you guys.’

While Ash Palmisciano (Matty Barton) commented: ‘Amazing. such an incredible journey x.’

Laura Norton (Kerry Wyatt) said: ‘Just so brilliant’, while Anthony Quinlan (Pete Barton) responded:  ‘Beautiful’

Soap star Michelle announced the exciting news of Teddy’s birth last month, sharing a sweet black and white snap cuddling her bundle of joy in the hospital.

She gushed over her ‘handsome little chap’ and revealed her and her wife of one year have named him Edward Peter Brooks. 

Accompanying the post she penned: ‘On Friday 9th October, this handsome little chap entered the world. Edward ‘Teddy’ Peter Brooks we are so in love with you! #ourlittleTeddyboyrevealed.

The beauty also shared a second snap with Edward all wrapped up in a colourful blanket while he slept. 

The star tied the knot with her TV producer other half in a lavish wedding reception at Graceland in Memphis last year.
