The blue tick is generally reserved for businesses and well-known celebrities.

According to Instagram, the blue tick symbolises that the company has confirmed that the account is ‘the authentic presence of the public figure, celebrity or global brand it represents’.

While anyone can request to become verified, Instagram doesn’t guarantee that it will happen.

In order to become verified, the account must represent a ‘well-known, highly searched for person, brand or entity’.

Fellow contestants were quick to defend Frazer’s decision to apply for a blue tick after So Dramatic! pointed out the finding.

‘Well he is a public figure and he has at least 10k followers so where is the problem? Frazer is a legend,’ wrote fellow contestant Rudy El Kholti.

Rudy also has Instagram verification, although he achieved it before appearing on The Bachelorette.
