Pregnant Helen Flanagan insists she is not a ‘lazy parent’ as she attempts to potty train daughter Delilah, 2, for a second time while struggling with sickness
She’s preparing for the birth of her third child with footballer fiancé Scott Sinclair.
But Helen Flanagan admits her current focus is on youngest child Delilah as she prepares to potty train the two-year old for a second time, while insisting her decision to abandon the first attempt had nothing to do with ‘lazy parenting.’
Addressing Instagram followers on Tuesday, the former Coronation Street star, 30, admitted she was keen to get her out of nappies despite being stricken with Hyperemesis – a pregnancy complication characterised by nausea, vomiting, dehydration and weight loss.

She wrote: ‘Going back to potty training this month and lockdown. I really do not like potty training at all.
‘I would have done it earlier with Delilah pops but because I’ve been so unwell with Hyperemesis (anyone knows that’s had this knows the last thing you want to do is potty train your little one).
‘I tried in April but she just wasn’t ready I don’t feel, she would get far too upset and I wasn’t in my house so was more stressful. She uses the potty at home quite a lot and at nursery.’

But she admitted the delay was once again caused by Hyperemesis symptoms, as well as a busy acting schedule that frequently demanded she travel from the family’s former home in Glasgow to her native Manchester for work.
She wrote: ‘Matilda was just before she was three but I was ill again and living between Scotland and Manchester, so that’s why she was later.

‘I was filming the majority of the time so Scott’s mum potty trained Matilda.’
Helen was also quick to insist the delay in training her youngest had nothing to do with procrastination on her part, with the actress keen for Delilah to learn in a comfortable environment.
She added: ‘Sometimes it’s really not lazy parenting everyone’s situations are different and I want Delilah to potty train happily where she was getting too upset last time.’
