Oliver Hudson has informed his social media followers he was in hospital on Tuesday.

The actor, 44, took to Instagram and posted a selfie from his hospital bed as he appeared to be undergoing a scan.

The Rules of Engagement star did not say why he was there, however he hinted it wasn’t too serious by joking his stay was the result of the US presidential election.

Oliver, who is the son of Goldie Hawn and the brother of Kate Hudson, captioned the snap: ‘Election night!’

The Nashville actor was lying shirtless on a bed in the photo and also sported a face mask as his neck was scanned.

One user wrote: ‘Please share that you are ok,’ while another said: ‘What happened? Feel better soon!’

It comes after Oliver’s sister Kate previously told how the siblings had taken very different strategies to dealing with the coronavirus lockdown.

Speaking to ELLE, the actress said she had a word with her brother to make sure he was taking proper care of himself.

She said: ‘I talked to my brother Oliver, [he] just went and started drinking like, every day. It was like a party for him. He was having Zoom drinks. And I was the opposite.

‘I was like, “Oliver, we need to build our immunity and be strong. We don’t know what this is. We don’t know what’s going on.” So I think there’s a nice balance there.’

During a recent episode of his podcast with Kate, Sibling Revelry, Oliver revealed he has experimented with a number of anti-aging beauty treatments.

‘I did [the vampire facial], where they spin your blood and it was crazy,’ Oliver began. ‘He just took a needle and was squirting it all over my face. It was cold.’

As his skin was being refreshed, the Scream Queens star asked his doctor a ‘million questions,’ including: ‘How many celebrities have done this? Are there any other men who do this? Do you know celebrity men who have actually done this?’

Oliver, who saw Dr. Jason Diamond, said his dermatologist replied that it would ‘shock’ him to know how many male celebrities he does ‘sh*t to.’

After getting ‘blood spattered all over’ his face, microneedling and some laser treatments, Dr. Diamond suggested Oliver get Botox injected into his forehead.

He recalled: ‘I’m like, ‘Oh sh*t, for real?’ He’s like, ‘Just trust me.’ He puts Botox in my face and I didn’t feel anything. Two days later I’m making an expression in the mirror and one eyebrow literally goes up into my hairline. I’m like what the f**k is going on.’

In a state of panic, he called his doctor and said, ‘Jason, dude, what the f**k. You just ruined my life.’

‘It looked insane. I looked like a villain,’ he said, before revealing his doctor injected ‘some more’ into his forehead to ‘calm it down.’

Kate seemed unfazed, as she laughed and explained most people have a ‘stronger side’ above their eyebrows, ‘so when you get something like Botox, it’s going to react differently.’

Then, she advised him and other listeners to confirm with their doctors, before a treatment, about making sure they can get something ‘fixed’ without an additional charge, if a treatment goes wrong.

Despite a few hiccups after getting his Botox for the first time, Oliver said he ‘might do it again’ and doesn’t have ‘a stigma’ about telling people.
