Locky Gilbert questioned why he went to the Melbourne Cup races without Irena Srbinovska

It would have been one of their first red carpet appearances as a couple. 

So it’s no wonder Bachelor fans were confused when  Locky Gilbert, 31, chose to attend Melbourne Cup festivities at The Camfield in Perth without his girlfriend Irena Srbinovska, 31, on Tuesday.  

Irena’s no-show came as a surprise, given that she and Locky had spent the enjoying a romantic holiday to Rottnest Island.  

Fans became even more curious on Wednesday when Locky uploaded a photo of himself posing with a male friend at the event, while making no mention of Irena’s whereabouts. 

‘Where is Irena?’ one fan commented on the post, while another added: ‘I didn’t see Irena here.’ 

Other fans began speculating that Irena chose not to attend the racing event for moral reasons. 

‘Irena is vegan so unlikely to support horse racing and be at horse racing events,’ one follower surmised.  

Meanwhile, Locky risked an awkward run-in with his ex-girlfriend Jordan Cayless on Tuesday after the pair were spotted partying at the same Melbourne Cup event in Perth.  

Locky and Jordan dated from 2017 to 2019, with Jordan choosing to end the relationship.

Jordan previously made headlines when she scathingly expressed doubt that Locky would find true love on The Bachelor, accusing him of signing up for the show for publicity.  

‘I don’t believe it. Obviously, you have genuine feelings, and you’re in a bubble on the show, but no, I don’t think he will end up married with kids with this person on The Bachelor,’ she told New Idea magazine in August. 

‘I saw the ad where he says, “I’m the type of guy to get down on one knee”, and I thought, “Yeah, you will – for the publicity and the ratings!”‘

Jordan even claimed that Locky had previously mentioned he wanted to become The Bachelor and that the attention and following would ‘lift up’ his travel business Four Elements Adventure, in Bali.
