Georgie Parker’s behind-the-scenes photo from Home and Away sparks debate over COVID restrictions  

When the COVID-19 pandemic first hit Australia, Home and Away shut down production as the country went into lockdown. 

But as restrictions have begun to ease, production on the long-running drama has resumed.

And on Tuesday, stars Georgie Parker and Emily Symons shared some behind-the scenes photos from the set at Palm Beach in Sydney. 

In Georgie’s photo, several cast members were pictured in bright rash vests posing for the photo with their arms around one another.

Meanwhile, Emily’s photo showed the cast members posing together with a huge group of people in the background. 

The photos sparked a heated debate with many fans flocking to the comments to question whether they are following social distancing protocols. 

‘I do hope this was sometime ago before COVID-19 can’t see much self-distancing,’ commented one user. 

Another said: ‘No social distancing in Australia? I need to relocate!’ 

While a third wrote: ‘Let’s hope no one gets covid. Totally the opposite here in the UK. Another full lockdown on Thursday.’

However, many users thought that the photos were ‘beautiful’ and ‘uplifting’ amid the current struggles in the world. 

‘Fantastic photo. It’s great to see so much fun on set,’ commented one user. 

Another commented: ‘Beautiful, uplifting pic! Such bright beautiful inspiring people.’
