Karl Stefanovic took the opportunity to interview one of the biggest rappers in the world and ran with it.

On Tuesday’s episode of the Today show, the 46-year-old host couldn’t contain his excitement as he enjoyed a brief and awkward rapping duet with Snoop Dogg.

Unveiling himself to be a mega-fan of the American rapper, Karl proclaimed: ‘Finally I got to drop it like it’s hot, Australia, because Snoop’s in the house. Check it’.

Drop it like it’s hot! Karl Stefanovic couldn’t contain his excitement as he enjoyed a brief and awkward rapping duet with Snoop Dogg on Tuesdays episode of the Today show 

Karl told Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr: ‘I’m a massive fan of your music. I’ve always wanted to see you at Coachella.

‘In fact, even just a couple of years ago, I was in LA in Malibu, and you showed up like an apparition at night, and you started playing at this little small party I was at, and the whole joint just went lit.

In response, Snoop said that one of his ‘best tours’ was in Australia.

‘We had the time of our lives. We just really fell in love with Australia, New Zealand, the whole thing, it was a beautiful experience.’

Karl continued to win points with the Who Am I hitmaker as he told him he owned his cookbook, From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg’s Kitchen.

He also asked Snoop if he was 35 as he ‘looked amazing’.

The California native hilariously replied: ‘In dog years, I’m probably like 150 something’.

As the interview began wrapping up, Snoop burst out into an impromptu rap, singing: ‘I come from a land Down Under’.

Keen to join his idol in the opportunity of a lifetime, Karl began awkwardly singing: ‘You better run, you better take cover’.
