SAS Australia: Firass Dirani told the TRUTH about helping Shannan Ponton

The moment that proves Firass Dirani is NOT the villain: SAS Australia bad boy helps Shannan Ponton battle hypothermic shock before helping himself… after the Biggest Loser star branded the actor a selfish ‘sociopath’

Firass Dirani insisted last week he had selflessly helped Shannan Ponton battle hypothermia on SAS Australia – after the former Biggest Loser star branded him a ‘sociopath’ for his self-centred behaviour on the show.

And it turns out the 36-year-old actor was telling the truth – as the moment he helped Shannan, 46, played out on the Channel Seven show on Tuesday night.

In the footage, Shannan was seen shaking violently in a minivan following a gruelling challenge, with Firass taking a seat next to him.

He was telling the truth! This scene proves that Firass Dirani (centre) DID help Shannan Ponton (left) battle hypothermia on SAS Australia. The former Biggest Loser star had previously labelled the actor a ‘sociopath’ who only cared about himself

Before helping himself, Firass passed a cup of hot water to Shannan in an attempt to help him battle against the bitter cold.

Even after Shannan says he ‘can’t hold’ the cup, the House Husbands star reassures him that it isn’t too hot and will help with his convulsions.

Firass – who believes his reputation as a troublemaker on SAS Australia is part of a ‘villain edit’ orchestrated by Seven – told Daily Mail Australia this wasn’t the only way he’d helped Shannan when he was suffering from hypothermia.

He said on Wednesday: ‘I also undressed him on the hill. They showed the commandos dressing him, but cut who took his tops off. I did. They cut it.

‘Then I took his temperature from his ears because the doctor was in an awkward position. The doctor passed the gauge to me, and I took the temperature twice at different times to see how bad the situation was.’

When discussing the video of him helping Shannan, he added: ‘This is not enough. There’s more to come. Always cutting my successes and humanity.’

The footage comes after Shannan raged to TV Week last month: ‘On multiple occasions I asked Firass to hand in his badge, as his presence and repetitive behaviour were ruining the entire experience for the rest of us.’

‘I struggled with Firass’ behaviour from day one,’ Shannan said, adding that the star’s back-chat was a ‘lame attempt at juvenile humour’.

‘The entire cast was filthy, but many wanted to avoid confrontation and failed to speak up directly,’ the fitness coach said.

After his comments, Firass unleashed a blistering response – telling Daily Mail Australia: ‘Who the f**k is he to tell me how to act?

‘I wasn’t there to be compliant or hide. Or be a sheep. I went there to be me, and I didn’t fit into the construct of who he thought I needed to be.

‘It’s utter hypocrisy coming from him, who got hypothermia – right next to me on a beach – and was shaking so uncontrollably hard it was almost impossible for him to utter the words “help”.

‘But he eventually turned as he was convulsing, and asked for “Helllpppppp” and I then wrangled and assisted “Mr strong PT” in getting his gear together because he couldn’t use his hands and was going into hypothermic shock.’

‘He lost his memory and doesn’t even remember this. This the “juvenile” he is talking about?’ Firass added.
