Josie Gibson lashes out at body-shaming troll after being branded ‘absolutely vile’

Josie Gibson hit back at a body-shamer who branded her ‘vile’ on Thursday.

The Big Brother 2010 winner, 35, who has been candid about her body battles, responded to a Twitter user who wrote: ‘I don’t mean to be rude but @Josiestweet is absolutely vile. it breaks my heart when I look at how fat she has got again’.

In her gracious response, Josie wrote: ‘But you are being rude, so you do mean to be rude. Don’t let my weight gain break your heart, honestly there is so many more things in the world to care about that really do matter’.

Josie, who shares son Reggie, two, with her ex Terry, has spoken openly about her fluctuating weight having started her public journey when she released her hit workout DVD Josie Gibson’s 30 Second Slim in 2013.

She famously slimmed from a size 20 to a size 8 after seeing unflattering pictures of herself on the beach – she was so shocked she called herself a ‘beast’.

In 2014, she shed an incredible six stone over a year when a combination of a strict diet and exercise helped her slim down from 16st 7lb and a size 18 to 10st 2lb.

Since having Reggie however, Josie has spoken about her changing body and weight gain and has frequently hit back at body-shamers.

In April last year, she revealed she has lost two stone and three dress sizes in just 12 weeks after she ‘lost control’ over her eating habits during her pregnancy.

Josie credited MuscleFood’s Do The Unthinkable: Diet and Exercise Plan for her weight loss, going from a size 18-20 to a 12.

The blonde beauty revealed that she had gained four and a half stone during her pregnancy with son Reggie and went up to 16 stone.

She admitted she had ‘lost control’ over her pregnancy cravings, devouring Marmite and cheese sandwiches, she added: ‘I kept kidding myself that it was OK because I was growing another human

Yet Josie decided to lose weight after her joints and knees started to ache, as well as being at risk of slipping back into type 2 diabetic territory and wanting to be ‘healthy’ for her son.

Her latest post comes after Josie grew emotional on This Morning last week as she discussed her brother’s hearing difficulties and the ‘living hell’ he has experienced during the coronavirus crisis.

The presenter said that the deaf community has been ‘forgotten’ about during the global pandemic as people are unable to lip read with the use of face masks.

Josie said that she and her brother, Harry, were recently left ‘drained’ after they were kicked out of three restaurants for not wearing a face mask despite being exempt from doing so.

The Big Brother star said: ‘We are so privileged to still be able to communicate even when we wear a face mask, but imagine going into a shop and being totally cut off from everybody in that shop?’

Josie added: ‘[People with hearing difficulties] not only use lip reading to communicate but they use this whole bottom part [of their face] as expression.

‘So they don’t know when people are trying to talk to them or when people are trying to get their attention, they don’t know how people are feeling, they would not know the emotion of that person because they are so cut off from that person.

‘We are told to wear masks and save lives, but we have forgotten about this community where these masks are making their lives a living hell.’
