Christian Bale touches down in Sydney via private jet to begin filming Thor: Love and Thunder

Christian Bale arrived in Sydney on Monday to begin filming the highly anticipated Marvel Studios movie, Thor: Love and Thunder.

In footage obtained by Daily Mail Australia, the English actor is seen exiting a luxury private jet flanked by awaiting awaiting security guards.

The 46-year-old The Dark Knight star was accompanied by a brunette believed to be his wife, Sandra ‘Sibi’ Blazic.

He is expected to stay at a hotel arranged by the government before he is able to join co-star Natalie Portman and director Taika Waititi, who are already in Sydney.

At present, a mandatory 14-day quarantine is required for those arriving to Australia from overseas. 

Christian will play a villain opposite Chris Hemsworth in the new Marvel flick.

The movie is scheduled for a February 11, 2022 release, but due to COVID-19 nothing is set in stone. 

Tessa Thompson, who plays Valkyrie in the flick, recently revealed the actor had been cast as a malevolent as-yet-unnamed character.

Speaking to ET, she explained: ‘Christian Bale is going to play our villain, which is going to be fantastic.

Cast: Tessa and Christian will star alongside, Natalie Portman, who appeared in 2011's Thor (above) and the 2013 sequel Thor: The Dark World alongside Chris Hemsworth, but skipped 2017's Thor: Ragnarok because it was set in space

Gushing about working with Thor: Ragnarok director Taika, she said they were ‘going to have fun’.

Taika is writing [and] directing. Some familiar faces. Some new people coming into the mix.’
