A cashed-up Jimmy and Tam admit they have no sympathy for the poorer contestants on The Block

While most of the teams on The Block have been struggling financially, consecutive wins for Jimmy and Tam mean the Queensland couple is cashed-up.

With $60,860 in their kitty, and $35,860 of that coming from prize money, Jimmy and Tam revealed they don’t feel sorry for the other cash-strapped teams.

‘You signed up. You signed up,’ said Jimmy, while an unsympathetic Tam, 31, added, ‘That’s all part of it.’

Jimmy, 33, said: ‘We’ve all watched The Block. It’s all part of the competition.’

But the other poorer teams admitted the absence of money had taken a toll, with morale at an all-time low on the show.

Despite getting a pep talk from hosts Scott Cam and Shelley Craft, George and Sarah admitted they were feeling flat and exhausted.

‘I know it’s tough and you’re tired and you want to go home, just engage for the last two weeks,’ Scott, 57, urged them.

But George, 33, admitted that even though they were nearing the end of the competition, they were ‘just not enjoying it’.

‘I hate that I was given this opportunity and it’s, like, hard, and I hate that,’ he said, while Sarah, 27, branded it ‘one of the hardest things that anyone will ever do’.

George added: ‘It’s hard, trying to put on this brave face, and it’s hard, you just get exhausted, and that’s what kills you. It’s just hard for us. And we’re trying.’

Many of the other teams were also feeling the pressure of trying to complete their renovations in a tight timeframe with a limited budget.

Getting teary-eyed, Tash admitted she was also finding it tough, as her dad, Harry, 57, tried to console her.

Meanwhile, Daniel, 35, and Jade admitted they were also finding things ‘hard’ as they struggled to contain their emotions.

‘It’s hard to have fun. You know, we miss our kids. We’re forever grateful to be here and to have been given the opportunity, but at the same time, you know, you’re getting thrown roadblocks left, right and centre,’ explained Jade, 34.
