During a car chase, the suspect dangerously swerved his speeding vehicle in front of another driver, crashing through traffic cones at the roadside.

The driver abandoned his car on the kerb beside some parkland and made a run for it to try and escape the officers.

The police car pulled over to arrest him, and the dash-cam captured the hilarious moment the pair fell.

The man wearing a green anorak and a hat tried to vault over the small hedge but he just tumbles over and disappears into the darkness.

The firearms officer pursuing him then also tries to jump over the hedge, but catches his foot and goes down.

Leicestershire Police confirmed they eventually managed to arrest the man following the chase, where the vehicles hit speeds of up to 55mph, last week.
