Shane Warne’s shy son Jackson, 21, reveals why he can NEVER step out of his famous father’s shadow

‘It’s been pretty frustrating my whole life’: Shane Warne’s shy son Jackson, 21, reveals why he can NEVER step out of his famous father’s shadow and admits he’s terrified of being in ‘groups’ on SAS Australia

Jackson Warne was pulled into interrogation on Tuesday’s episode of SAS Australia, where he spoke about growing up in his famous dad’s shadow and his insecurity in groups.

After telling the show’s DS (directing staff) his dad is Shane Warne, a surprised Ant Middleton asked the 21-year-old: ‘What the f**k are you doing here?’

‘To test myself and I want to… I want him to be really proud of me,’ he confessed.

Ant then asked Jackson what it was like to ‘live in your dad’s shadow’, and said his accomplishments would be ‘overcast’ by the 51-year-old former cricketer.

‘It’s been pretty frustrating my whole life. Whenever I walk into a room or meet someone, it’s always, “Oh, that’s Shane Warne’s son, Jackson,” it’s never, “That’s Jackson,”‘ he admitted.

‘I just want to be Jackson. Doing this, I know I can prove to people that no matter how easy my childhood was, I can still do the tough stuff and still push myself physically and mentally.’

Ant told Jackson he could now understand why he had agreed to appear on the gruelling TV show.

‘Friends-wise and family, whenever I’m always in a group of people, I always found a way of… I’m not sure,’ Jackson continued.

‘Just not being able to interact with people, just because I don’t know if they assume about me. I just don’t feel comfortable in groups and in teams.’

But fellow instructor Billy Billingham told him he needed to move past all that if he wanted to succeed on the show.

‘Right now, listen, drop that s**t behind you, forget it. You’ve stepped into an arena with everybody else,’ he told him.

‘You’re f**king equal. You have an opportunity, just like they do… Everybody’s on an equal play in there. Everybody.’
